A trio of female encounters embodied by two flamenco and hip-hop dancers invite a cellist to share the stage in an attempt to transform space, time and sound in one unique poetic narrative.
By staging duels, duets and trios of powerful, warlike or accomplice female figures, YOUME’s purpose reveals distinct cultures. Roots here in fusion blur the cards of a game where territories oppose and merge, where the identity of each opens up as she tries to assert herself. Here three noble metals fuse and slowly but surely, in the resulting amalgam, fortify themselves, like a joust, recognizing and accepting difference. Each adapting to the poetry, rhythm, music, imagination and memory of the other. Together, the three performers allow a part of mystery to come to the surface, filling the space «in between», taking hold of each one of them.
This space «in between» is where the choreography and music are invented.
